Hey everyone, welcome back to Average Joe for the week!

First and foremost, if you’ve missed an update or two you might want to start back here, where the events referenced in panel one of this strip first started taking place :-)

Secondly, you might also want to check out this strip as a refresher to the cunning plan that the Major used to capture the scientist. He’s pretty cunning. I wonder if that’s a part of Agent 42′s plan or not…

This strip continues the current arc which draws together the two plotlines running through Average Joe – the story set in the past leading up to Strip #1 and the story going on from that point. It’s amazing to think how much has changed regarding the style of the strip since that first post, but I’m really glad to finally be able to bring it all together and tell the story that’s been gestating all this time! I hope you guys will like finding out the Major’s big plans in the next couple of months :-)

This strip also had some fun challenges in the drawing process – I think I’m getting a little better at drawing my characters in profile, and I liked the idea that the Major wouldn’t be looking at Fatale when she returned to him – neither party can see each other’s expression (is that anger or suspicion in the Major’s face there in panel 1 I wonder…?). I also like the chance to draw the Major again, he’s going to be coming up a lot more in the coming strips so it’s good to really get his design from different angles solidified under my drawing hand. It was also nice to see the Major’s attendant again too! I don’t think we’ve seen him since way back in Strip #65 (someone correct me if I’m wrong there), although he’s been around since as early as Strip #5! He’ll be turning up a bit more in the strips to come as well, so nice to give his style a bit of an update and drag him into the modern Average Joe look :-D

That’s all for tonight folks! I hope you enjoy the week and I look forward to seeing you back here again next Sunday!
